My degree subject was Ancient History, so I didn’t have what you’d consider an obvious route into the roofing industry. However a lot of the skills gained through undertaking my undergraduate degree have been transferable and a general hardworking attitude always helps!
I meet new people every day due to the type of work and the area I cover. As a result the role never gets repetitive and this is a real bonus. I also enjoy the freedom that comes with planning your own schedule, managing your own sales area and building lasting relationships with new and existing contacts.
Marley’s induction training programme is in depth and although managing an area independently, you are never without colleagues and management support. I am currently looking forward to undertaking a qualification for the Institute of Roofing later this year.
My immediate goal is to master my current role. As for the future, the sky is the limit! I’m enjoying being within the sales team but could see myself moving or managing other departments, perhaps even joining one of our sister companies and moving abroad.
I would describe Marley’s culture as hardworking and focused with a paramount attitude to furthering the development of and retaining its employees. We also have a real focus on customer service and adding extra value to every service or relationship that we share.
