At Marley we pressure treat all of our decking on site using a water-based preservative treatment. The timber is treated in a vessel and undergoes a vacuum pressure impregnation system enabling the treatment to be forced into the timber cells.
All our timber decking is treated with Naturewood preservative treatment to achieve Use Class 3 as standard in accordance with BS 8417. We can also offer treatment to Use Class 4 when required.
Once the decking has been treated it can be left to weather naturally over time without the need to retreat for rot and fungi attack. If you are making any
cuts to the boards, we do recommend an end coat preservative is applied to the cut ends.
