Marley SolarTile®

Helping Doncaster Council Create a Benchmark in Sustainable Living for Future Developments

All in the detail

Doncaster Council’s desire to create a sustainable living benchmark across its new housing stock was Marley’s primary consideration for this project.

The Project

Doncaster Council wanted to introduce sustainability features to all its new build council housing stock. The aim is to create council houses fit for the future that are energy efficient and reduce the bills of their tenants, as Matthew Clarkson, Doncaster Council, explains.

“From the outset, we wanted to create sustainable housing, which meant using solar power,” explained Matthew. “However, as an authority, we found retrofitting solar panels and the associated maintenance issues problematic, which is why we opted to use Marley’ SolarTile.”

Our SolarTile product can be integrated into the roof. In addition to this, they also have the benefit of coming with a 15-year complete system guarantee, offering peace of mind to our customers.

Homes fit for the future

The future of home building has sustainability at its heart. Using a product like the SolarTile® that is integrated into the roof negates any issues with birds nesting under panels associated with retrofitted tiles, which could lead to a fire risk.

The Marley SolarTile

Solar pv roof tiles are an ideal choice for both roof refurbishments and new-build projects, providing an uncluttered aesthetic with no visible brackets or racking, as well as easy maintenance and our market-leading 15-year guarantee.

Marley SolarTile® can be fitted as part of a typical roofing project and installation is fast. Thanks to the patented push-together design, installation times for your solar rooftop can be less than one hour per kilowatt peak.
